BlackBerry Mobile Bangladesh

Note: The availability of BlackBerry mobile phones in Bangladesh is very limited.

The Canadian company BlackBerry Limited (formerly known as Research in Motion or RIM) was originally developed, manufactured, marketed and sold BlackBerry smartphones. The first BlackBerry phone was launched in January 1999. It's been a long way since then.TCL Corporation sells BlackBerry mobile phones under the name "BlackBerry Mobile". An Indian company and an Indonesian company co-operate the business with TCL Corporation. The Canadian company BlackBerry Limited has developed into a software and business services company. BlackBerry phones have always been a well-respected brand in the mobile phone industry in terms of design, hardware and software quality, ease of use, security and QWERTY keyboard. BlackBerry Pearl 8100  is one of the world's best-selling candy bar phones (15 million sold) which launched in 2006. The BlackBerry Bold Touch 9900, released in August 2011, is one of its famous smartphones.

The Fall of BlackBerry

By the end of 2009, BlackBerry alone had around 20% of the smartphone operating system's market share (Statista). After that, Android became known as the leader of smartphone operating systems. Since 2010, the BlackBerry operating system has continued to lose the market. By the end of 2013, its market share had fallen below 1%. In order to survive in the market the brand has introduced some individualistic android smartphones. But the classic BlackBerry, after a rich history of its own, repeatedly had problems merging with Android. They tried to invest more in the development of the operating system, but the vast majority of people still prefer Android and iOS. The new generation of smartphone users are more interested in innovative applications, cameras and large open communities than in a traditional and secure operating system. We think this is the main reason for the BlackBerry crash.

BlackBerry in Bangladesh

BlackBerry was one of the few brands that could compete with Nokia in the beginning days of the smartphone market in Bangladesh. The QWERTY keyboard was very popular with the younger generation as messaging was very popular in Bangladesh from the start. Then came Android with the advanced touch keyboard and various chat applications, which caused the BlackBerry to lose its popularity almost instantly in the Bangladeshi smartphone market. It is now manufacturing Android devices, but on a small scale in Bangladesh.
